If you know how to connect with your partner and you can walk together, if you know how to do ochos or a basic, and weight shifts, then you know enough. Pick one, do it, add another, do some more:

From website: My Name is Momo Smitt, I am an independently funded/promoted hip hop artist based in Portland, OR. My music covers a wide range of topics from recovery and personal growth to political and environmental issues. Though much of my music is expressed from a first person perspective of opinions and feelings, I also tend to take a narrative, story-telling approach while detailing my experiences through the role of "observer".

We have a formula that we teach in class often...
00:07
..so that you can go out really rapidly and do an easy dance...
00:11
..that's not crazy pressure for the leaders.
00:14
And the formula is: we say you do something simpler...
00:17
...and then something simpler..
00:19
..and then something simple.
00:21
And 'simpler' we mean;
walking, weight shifts, rocking.
00:25
And of course some of those things
aren't really that simple,
00:27
But they’re easy to learn at first stage.
00:29
And for 'simple' we mean something like,
ochos or a basic.
00:38
And then, after you’ve done that a few times,
you add in some kind of a tricky thing...
00:41
..which might mean a gaucho or any kind of fancy combination
you know that you like.
00:46
So that might look for example.
00:49
So here is a - you get in an embrace,
weight changes; this is simpler.
00:58
..and then maybe walking.
01:03
This is simpler.
01:04
And now we do something simple,
for example front ochos.
01:14
And then we do something simpler
for example rocking...
01:20
..and then we do something simpler.
01:21
And here, the simpler is just going to be we'll pause
and gaze at each other and smile.
01:26
And then we/ll do something simple,
maybe a basic.
01:33
And that could be a
six count basic also.
01:36
And then we’ve just done that formula twice...
01:38
So now we’ll do something "wow"
which in this case is a gaucho.
01:49
And this would be a time to regroup and
maybe do weight shifts.
01:54
And then you start with the formula
all over again.
01:58
Super simple, super simple, simple.
02:00
Super simple, super simple, simple.
02:03
"Wow"
02:04
We’ve had a lot of success with this in class.
02:06
We call them "The Brians" because
he was the one who first mentioned it to us.
02:11
And we’ll create this very long combination
filled with very easy things, that repeat.
02:17
And the combination,
if they do it maybe twice...
02:21
...they’ll be through half or three quarters of a song
without too much suffering.
