One thing that we didn't mention in the video is that we make the steps and the contra body subtly staccato. One thing this does is that it lets a smaller motion show larger and "pop" more. Because milonga is fast enough so that you often do not use as much contra body as you might in tango.

00:05
So, there are number of elements that make milonga seem really milonga.
00:09
And we started, in our last video, to show one of them.
00:11
And our plan is, in each video, to show one element, that you can layer on top of the milonga dance,
00:16
To make it have more of the attitude that makes i uniquely milonga.
00:20
The second one is contra body movement.
00:22
With a little bit of staccato to it, as well.
00:26
If we show the flat 6-count basic, two angles, once again,
00:34
Or, from another angle.
00:39
And this doesn't look especially milonga, doesn't look especially anything.
00:42
And, if we now just add natural contra body motion, when the right leg goes forward,
00:49
Right leg goes forward, the left breast bone goes forward and visa versa,
00:53
Then you get something that looks like this.
01:04
And same for the lady, right? 6-count basic is neutral to the people.
01:14
And just by adding this slightly sharp contra body motion,
01:19
All of the sudden milonga looks more milonga.
