- We are gonna show you a few variations of back ocho.
- 00:04
- This first variation is just like the normal BA ocho except
- 00:07
- that it just pivots less.
- 00:09
- And because it pivots less, it travels a little bit.
- 00:14
- And uh, it's actually a little easier.
- 00:17
- It is easier and it's more common.
- 00:19
- And the key point is
- 00:20
- after this pivot, I need
- 00:22
- to step in the same line as her hips.
- 00:24
- So we go the same direction in that step,
- 00:27
- And I need to step the amount that he's stepping.
- 00:29
- I'm using his body to move me back so I don't out step him.
- 00:34
- So let's show you that same thing from a new direction.
- 00:46
- And we showed you this actually in one of those combinations
- 00:48
- of OCHO and you did, uh, basic.
- 00:51
- Uh, the next example is a fair amount harder.
- 00:54
- And that's that you can have the followers step
- 00:57
- around the leader instead of traveling.
- 01:00
- So I'll keep my feet basically stationary,
- 01:02
- but for her it's much harder.
- 01:04
- And thus for me,
- 01:05
- because the pivot is humongous, she has to do a normal pivot
- 01:08
- and then more so that it can stay close.
- 01:11
- So you notice here we're about the same distance we started.
- 01:15
- So you do those same pivots, you do just more huge.
- 01:20
- And then there you are. Um,
- 01:21
- When, when I first learned this, I thought of it
- 01:23
- as pivoting an impossible amount and then pivoting more.
- 01:27
- Actually that's how you thought of normal back
- 01:28
- ocho, not of this.
- 01:29
- That's true. This. Now the final example is the same, uh,
- 01:32
- same, same thing except you do it only on that last pivot.
- 01:35
- So here's our back ocho,
- 01:37
- and then on this pivot, we can ask her to go and then more.
- 01:42
- And then notice that we have a
- 01:44
- BTA follower through the leader.
- 01:51
- So this is your normal ocho.
- 01:53
- And then we take that idea we just did
- 01:55
- and we said, oh, well, let's pivot her even more.
- 01:58
- So she goes around the circle
- 02:02
- and then it becomes a bta.
