This is a page to list musicians that many may not know of. A lot of the music that is played is that of musicians who are long dead ... if we want tango music to flourish, best we support some of the great musicians that are alive and creating today!
There are 3 lists:
- Artists who have given us permission to use their music. We listened to over 600 musicians, wrote to the top 5%, and the below musicians gave us permission to use their music. They are amongst the best and the most generous! Thank you!
- The second list is artists we like.
- The final list is user contributed - by you! Please contribute anyone who you like who is producing tango music today.

Manuel Barrueco

Ruth Roshan

Trio Garufa
From website: Trio Garufa is an international ensemble dedicated to performing authentic Argentine music. They have performed across Argentina, Canada and the US. Trio Garufa performs traditional Argentine tango, modern tango styles such as Astor Piazzolla's music or electro tangos, original tango compositions, and Argentine folk music. Their music is exciting, virtuosic, and rooted in the dance. They are the only tango ensemble in the US to have performed extensively in the milongas (tango dance clubs) of Buenos Aires. The group includes Guillermo García, guitar (Argentina) Adrian Jost, bandoneon (Switzerland) and Sascha Jacobsen, string bass (California).
Orchestra Berretin
From website: (Alex Krebs) Has been studying the bandoneon since May 2001, directed the tango band "Conjunto Berretin." (with 2 CD's recorded) from 2003-2008, and currently is arranging/directing a tango sextet and arranging/directing an Orquesta Tipica for the Portland Tango Festivals in Feb. and Oct.
