If colgada is one of the hardest "regular" steps in tango, walking in colgada is much harder. You need to maintain the pull through your lower backs, both leader and follower, regardless of the direction you are moving. Start by doing it smaller and then you can increase the colgada (amount you lean away) as you become more used to controlling the lean while you step.

Complex tangos sung in both spanish and yiddish with great authenticity.

From artist's website about one album: Tells the story of piringundines, from German cabaret to the Buenos Aires tango venue, and with the tango it will take us through a history of crossed destinies, and misunderstandings, love, and forget that we identifys as Argentinians.

So this is almost an experimental chapter because...
00:21
..it’s not something people do, almost ever.
00:23
And it’s not something we do it almost ever…
00:25
..but it’s a fun thing to play with, though.
00:27
Here it is.
00:30
I want you to think that - side to side
it’s much easier because...
00:33
..the lean is not in the direction
of the side to side.
00:36
So the lead for the side to side
is pretty much exactly the same.
00:40
For now, I’m going to have her cross in front.
00:42
So I’m going to rotate a little bit and have the pull…
00:45
..not exactly side but a little bit off.
00:48
If you're going forward or backward, it’s a lot harder…
00:51
A lot harder.
00:52
..because then you have to map the degree of movement
you might get in a forward step or a back step...
00:59
..to this odd place of off axis.
N. Right.
01:03
But, for example, the same lean away as always…
01:05
I'll lift in up, tilt away a little bit
and we'll go one, I’ll cross her over.
01:11
That one is pretty doable.
01:13
And here, let’s say I go: one, two…
01:15
And then I almost lost the second step.
01:19
Same thing, you can do back, let's say…
01:24
..for the follower, that is.
01:26
And then come out.
01:30
And so you can travel as you're in colgada.
01:32
You don't have to stay in one place,
and I think this is a fun and interesting idea.
01:35
For the leaders,...
01:38
..same lead as always: in, up,...
01:40
..pull away to get the colgada to start.
01:42
And then, after that, when you travel...
01:46
..in the side, I sort of give a pre-lead
to make sure it happens.
01:49
I say, "Let's go." One, two, three.
01:52
Or back, I say, "Let's go."
01:54
In the close up, if you - if I'm going back, I'll say,...
01:57
..here's our lean and I say, "And."
01:59
And I really exaggerate that, so that she knows to go.
02:02
That helps a lot. At least we know what direction,
and we can engage our body...
02:06
..a lot more, in order to be able to keep
the colgada when we step.
